About the Role
The Systems Administrator role is a critical position within our organization, responsible for coordinating and supporting computer-aided engineering systems (CAES) to ensure seamless project execution. This position requires a highly skilled individual with extensive experience in drawing office software and IT background.
Key Responsibilities
- Co-ordinate, set up and support computer aided engineering systems (CAES)
- Obtain standards information for SPS/client project specific requirements with PSL CAES and validate systems to be used
- Set-up and control network groups, network configurations of CAES workstation
- Set-up layering conventions, symbology and drawing sheets
- Provide set-up and support for printing/plotting by configuring workstations for network plotting
- Continually review and update SPS documentation and revise /modify to suit client specific requirements
- Source relevant corrective solutions (software developer/internet)
- Update SPS guideline to eliminate re-occurrence
- Keep up to date with all hardware/software enhancement
- Provide assistance to CADD users, by reviewing new software and testing against new documentation, and assisting with roll-out of new software applications
- Continually consult with software suppliers, PSL
- Continuously monitor and perform software maintenance as and when required
- Administration, documentation and file management
- Set-up EDMS to create records of drawing office register and ensure accurate distribution of updated drawings
- Register all new workstations prior to despatch on projects
- Keep track of all CAES workstations where deployed, users and log-in information
- Keep track of all hardware config/software loaded on each workstation and records of software serial numbers
- Control monthly plotting records and submit to PSL CAES at the end of each month
- Ensure all design drawings, project documentation and 3D models are saved on the relevant CADD servers
- Control methods of electronical transfer and receipt of electronic documentation
- Restrict and control access to “issued for construction” electronic files as and when required
- Assist PSL with archiving and handing over of final archiving media according to company policies
- Assist in IT Support duties
- Asset Management
- Creation of new account for Papercut application
- Coordination of office access control
- Coordination and support on SharePoint activities
- Backing of Plant 3D software
- Standards and Compliance
- Create Projects and load project agreements on Oracle system
- Co-ordinate IT software and hardware procurement process
- Audit 2D and 3D electronic media and generate report and give feedback to PSL
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of AutoCAD features and drafting best practices
- Adhere to established CAD standards and contribute to improving drafting procedures
Requirements
- Matric
- Multiple discipline drawing office practice certificate or equivalent
- More than 5 years experience in drawing office software
- More than 2 years IT background will be an added advantage
- Experience with additional software such as Revit, SolidWorks, Civil 3D, or MicroStation, Inventor will be an added advantage
- Knowledge in all disciplines will be an advantage
