Location: Hoedspruit, Limpopo

Kendrick Recruitment is currently seeking a talented and experienced Sous Chef for a luxury game reserve located in the Hoedspruit area. This live-in position is ideal for a passionate culinary professional looking to work in a world-class bush environment while delivering exceptional guest dining experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the Head Chef in the daily running of the kitchen
  

• Maintain high culinary standards in food preparation and presentation
  

• Support with menu planning, costing, and implementation
  

• Ensure proper stock control, storage, and rotation practices
  

• Oversee kitchen hygiene and maintain health and safety standards
  

• Train and guide junior kitchen staff as required
  

• Assist with staff rostering and kitchen administration
  

• Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment
  

• Contribute creatively to seasonal and special menus
  

Key Requirements:

• Formal culinary training and relevant qualifications
  

• Minimum 3-5 years experience in a similar Sous Chef role, preferably in a luxury lodge or fine dining environment
  

• Strong leadership and communication skills
  

• Ability to manage and motivate a small team under pressure
  

• Excellent knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen operations
  

• Passion for using fresh, seasonal, and locally sourced ingredients
  

• Willingness to work in a remote bush location on a live-in basis
