Requirements
- Post articles experience
- Undergraduate Qualification
- Complete a Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) degree with a strong focus on financial accounting, or an equivalent qualification approved by SAICA
- Postgraduate Qualification
- Obtain a postgraduate diploma in accounting sciences or an equivalent qualification to meet the SAICA entry requirements for the first professional examination.
Requirements:
- Financial Reporting & Analysis:
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, cash flow statements, and management information reports
- Budgeting & Forecasting:
- Develop and manage budgets, set financial estimates, and forecast future financial performance, adjusting for factors like increased operating costs, such as diesel during load shedding
- Auditing:
- Conduct internal and external audits to ensure the accuracy of financial records, compliance with laws, and proper documentation of transactions
- Tax Management:
- Handle tax planning, ensure timely tax payments, and prepare tax returns in line with current legislation
- Cost Management:
- Collect and analyze data on operational costs, set standard costs for goods, and perform cost-volume-profit analysis to optimize production processes
- Inventory & Production Accounting:
- Track and record the cost of materials, labor, and overhead related to the manufacturing of metal products, and ensure accurate inventory valuation
- Compliance:
- Ensure the company adheres to financial and legislative changes by staying updated on new standards and providing input to leverage technology for financial reporting and control
- Financial Advice:
- Provide expert financial guidance and counsel to management on business improvement, mergers and acquisitions, and risk management
- Corporate Finance:
- Advise on business transactions, including valuing companies during mergers or acquisitions, and help with financial strategy to promote growth
- Fraud Detection:
- Utilize forensic accounting skills to detect and prevent financial fraud within the organization
