Requirements

• Undergraduate Qualification
  • Complete a Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) degree with a strong focus on financial accounting, or an equivalent qualification approved by SAICA

• Financial Reporting & Analysis:
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, cash flow statements, and management information reports
• Budgeting & Forecasting:
  • Develop and manage budgets, set financial estimates, and forecast future financial performance, adjusting for factors like increased operating costs, such as diesel during load shedding
• Auditing:
  • Conduct internal and external audits to ensure the accuracy of financial records, compliance with laws, and proper documentation of transactions
• Tax Management:
  • Handle tax planning, ensure timely tax payments, and prepare tax returns in line with current legislation
• Cost Management:
  • Collect and analyze data on operational costs, set standard costs for goods, and perform cost-volume-profit analysis to optimize production processes
• Inventory & Production Accounting:
  • Track and record the cost of materials, labor, and overhead related to the manufacturing of metal products, and ensure accurate inventory valuation
• Compliance:
  • Ensure the company adheres to financial and legislative changes by staying updated on new standards and providing input to leverage technology for financial reporting and control
• Financial Advice:
  • Provide expert financial guidance and counsel to management on business improvement, mergers and acquisitions, and risk management
• Corporate Finance:
  • Advise on business transactions, including valuing companies during mergers or acquisitions, and help with financial strategy to promote growth
• Fraud Detection:
  • Utilize forensic accounting skills to detect and prevent financial fraud within the organization
