Kendrick Recruitment is seeking an experienced and passionate Head Guide for a prestigious luxury safari accommodation in the Kruger National Park. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead a team of guides in a world-class environment, ensuring exceptional guest experiences while promoting conservation and eco-tourism awareness.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and supervise the guiding team, ensuring high standards of service and guest satisfaction

• Manage game drive schedules and vehicle allocation to optimise guest experiences

• Deliver ongoing training and development to junior guides, fostering professional growth

• Ensure all safety protocols and park regulations are adhered to by the guiding team

• Report directly to the General Manager and provide regular updates on operations

• Handle guest queries and feedback regarding guided experiences, ensuring a world-class service

• Promote a culture of conservation, wildlife protection, and eco-tourism awareness within the team

• Uphold the highest standards of bush interpretation and guest engagement

Education and Experience:

• FGASA Level 2 or higher qualification (theory and practical completed) essential

• Full Trails Guide qualification advantageous

• DEAT/THETA Registration advantageous

• Valid First Aid Certificate essential

• Valid South African Code 8 Drivers License with PDP essential

• A minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Senior Field Guide or Head Guide in a Big Five reserve or similar environment

• Leadership or supervisory experience within a guiding team strongly preferred

• Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to guide and inspire team members

• Organised, reliable, and professional with a high standard of guest engagement

• Proficient in English; additional languages are beneficial

• Calm, confident, and friendly under pressure

• Strong communicator with exceptional bush interpretation skills
