This award-winning Restaurant and Wedding & Events Company in Somerset West offers elegant contemporary style cuisine. The restaurant and catering food production team are jointly responsible for daily prep but handle their individual brigade responsibilities for Restaurant and Events. Catering for Weddings and Events range from large to small, many of which are on site while others are hosted at unique destinations throughout the Western Cape. The same production kitchen also provides catering & PRIVATE CHEFFING for off-site requirements such as small private residences, corporate clients as well as private parties, small intimate weddings and functions at luxury homes and spectacular destinations for magazine photo shoots, interior design promotions catalogues, realtor brochures etc.

ProStaffSelect are in search of a SOUS CHEF / ASSISTANT KITCHEN MANAGER to handle daily production, control and oversee all prep, supervise kitchen operations, manage stock levels, organise staff, plan timing schedules, arrange and pack trucks for off-site events, facilitate and oversee function service set-ups, service and breakdowns.

Please note that the cuisine produced in this kitchen is UPMARKET / CONTEMPORARY STYLE FINE CUISINE and NOT a BUFFET MENU PRODUCTION environment. All menu items are prepared FROM SCRATCH and a variety of advanced production methods and techniques are extensively used.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum 2 or 3 year recognized professional / formal culinary qualification with 3 years work experience in a high-pressure fine dining kitchen

• Highly organized, well planned and reliable characteristics.

• A confident personality is needed to handle the fast pace and demands of this kitchen

• Effective communication skills and proficient in English AND Afrikaans with an outgoing and friendly personality.

• Must be able to THINK ON YOUR FEET with little time to waste.

• Extremely systematic and methodical worker

• Excellent personal hygiene and be able to work cleanly at all times.

• A positive person whos an effective delegator and motivator of people.
