Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the agriculture industry in Gauteng.
- Build and nurture relationships with key industry players, including farmers, suppliers, distributors, and government agencies.
- Develop and implement strategic plans to drive revenue growth, market expansion, and customer acquisition.
- Conduct market research to identify market trends, customer needs, and competitor activities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop innovative solutions and products to address customer requirements.
- Lead sales presentations and negotiate contracts with potential clients, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives.
- Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified leads and opportunities.
- Monitor industry trends and competitors’ activities to identify potential risks and opportunities for the company.
- Provide regular reports and updates on sales activities, revenue forecasts, and market trends to the management team.
- Stay up-to-date with industry developments, best practices, and emerging technologies related to the agriculture sector.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Marketing, Agriculture, or a related field.
- Proven experience (minimum 5 years) as a Business Development Manager or in a similar role within the agriculture industry.
- Solid understanding of the agriculture industry, including knowledge of crops, farming practices, supply chain, and regulations.
- Demonstrated success in driving revenue growth and achieving sales targets within the agriculture sector.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a track record of identifying and capitalizing on market opportunities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of cross-functional teams, managing multiple priorities, and meeting tight deadlines.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software.
- Valid driver’s license.
