A global powerhouse in professional services is seeking an experienced Tax professional to take the reins of their international tax function. With a presence across key global markets, this organisation delivers cutting-edge tax, compliance, and consulting services to a diverse multinational client base.
This role sits at the heart of strategic decision-making and tax innovation, reporting into the Johannesburg head office while offering full remote flexibility. You’ll lead and influence a multi-entity tax function in a dynamic, fast-paced environment that thrives on transformation.
Key Responsibilities:

• Technical Tax Advisory: Draft comprehensive, technical tax opinions on complex cross-border matters including treaty interpretation, transfer pricing, and controlled foreign companies (CFCs).
• International Tax Planning: Advise multinational clients on structuring, M&A tax planning, and BEPS (Base Erosion and Profit Shifting) compliance.
• Tax Dispute Resolution: Engage directly with SARS, prepare legal submissions, and represent clients in disputes.
• Thought Leadership: Contribute to industry discussions, write technical articles, and deliver in-house training on global tax trends.
• Client & Practice Development: Build strong client relationships, deliver strategic advice, and drive the growth of the international tax service line.

Minimum Requirements:

• BCom Accounting or LLB (preferred) or CA (SA) accreditation
• Postgraduate qualification in Taxation (essential)
• Minimum 10 years’ experience in tax, including 8+ years in audit/advisory
• Big 4 experience strongly preferred
• Candidates with a legal/tax law background are highly encouraged to apply
