Azure Cloud Platform Engineer (Infrastructure-as-Code) (CPT Hybrid)IT – Infrastructure

ENVIRONMENT:

YOUR expertise in platform engineering, automation, and coding as an Azure Cloud Platform Engineer is sought by an innovative Independent Asset Management Firm. Your core role will be to design, build and evolve its Internal Developer Platform (IDP) for Microsoft Azure, with a focus on InfrastructureasCode templates and golden paths that give Developers secure, compliant, observable, and costefficient paved roads to production. You will productise platform capabilities (templates, modules, reusable CI/CD, policy guardrails, and Developer portal scaffolding) so that delivery teams can selfserve common architectures: App Services, Azure Functions, API Backends, eventdriven services, etc. The successful incumbent must possess a suitable tertiary qualification in IT or Computer Science, have 8 years work experience in a similar role with at least 5 years Infrastructure-as-Code & 5 years working in Azure public. You must also have proficiency with Terraform, including module design, remote state management, workspaces, and CI/CD pipelines, GitHub Actions, secure development lifecycle (SDLC) best practices, and Git workflows.

DUTIES:

Collaborate closely with the Infrastructure team and broader Technology teams.
Work effectively with outsourced vendors and managed services partners.
Own and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) repositories (Bash, Python, YAML) in GitHub.
Define and maintain opinionated templates and modules.
Partner with Application teams to onboard onto golden paths; collect feedback and run enablement sessions.
Maintain documentation across Confluence, codebases, and GitHub READMEs.

REQUIREMENTS:

Qualifications

Relevant qualification in IT or Computer Science.

Experience/Skills

8 Years of experience in Cloud Engineering or DevOps roles.
At least 5 years of experience working with Infrastructure-as-Code.
Minimum 5 years of experience working in Azure public.
Proficient with Terraform, including module design, remote state management, workspaces, and CI/CD pipelines.
Experience with GitHub Actions, secure development lifecycle (SDLC) best practices, and Git workflows.
In-depth understanding of Azure core services: networking, compute, identity, and storage.
Strong scripting skills using PowerShell, Bash, or Python, with a strong automation mindset.
Experience in implementing security controls, governance, and compliance standards in a Financial Services environment.
