Work with a leading player in the road freight sector with a strong market reputation. Key Responsibilities: – Maintain lease agreements and ensure compliance with terms – Prepare and review monthly financial performance reports – Oversee VAT, employee taxes, and provisional tax compliance – Manage cash flow, reconciliations, and daily payment activities – Monitor general expenses and identify cost-saving opportunities – Ensure IFRS and regulatory compliance – Maintain accurate asset registers and conduct audits Skills & Requirements: – BCom – Minimum 3 years experience in accounting – Strong understanding of accounting principles and tax regulations – Experience with audits and external auditors – Excellent analytical and communication skills – Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment Apply Now!

Job Description

Key Responsibilities Accounting Processing Capture and process invoices, payments, receipts, and journals accurately and timeously. Maintain up-to-date and organised accounting records in line with company policies. Reconciliations Perform daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliations, including bank recons, supplier recons, and customer accounts. Investigate and resolve discrepancies promptly. Debtors & Creditors Manage the end-to-end creditors process: invoice verification, payment preparation, and supplier query resolution. Assist with the debtors function, including issuing invoices, statements, and performing follow-ups on outstanding balances. Maintain clean age analysis reports. VAT & Compliance Prepare VAT calculations and ensure accurate submission data. Assist with compliance-related tasks, including supporting documents for audits and statutory filings. Reporting & Administration Assist in preparing month-end schedules and reports. Support the finance team with ad hoc tasks, data checks, and general accounting queries. Skills & Competencies Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy. Excellent organisational and time management abilities. Proficient in MS Excel and accounting software (e.g., Sage, Xero, Pastel depending on your preference). Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines. Problem-solving mindset and willingness to learn. Qualifications & Experience Diploma or Degree in Accounting/Finance (or currently studying toward one). 12 years accounting experience (including internships or articles) preferred. Roles and Responsibilities Junior Accountant / Business Administrator Start date: January 2026 Koedoespoort, Pretoria Accounting Firm Environment | In-Office | Permanent R13,000 R20,000 CTC (experience dependent) Working Hours & Environment Hours: 08:00 17:00, Monday to Friday Location: 33 Eland Street, Koedoespoort, Pretoria Reporting to: Practice Manager Setup: In-office, professional accounting practice environment About the Role: Our client, a well-established accounting firm based in Pretoria, is looking for a motivated Junior Accountant / Business Administrator to join their growing team. This role is ideal for a candidate who has completed their articles or gained solid exposure within an accounting firm and is now looking to grow into a more hands-on, client-facing position. Youll work closely with the Practice Manager, supporting a range of accounting, tax, and compliance functions while contributing to the smooth running of the firms operations. Key Responsibilities: Assist with monthly bookkeeping, reconciliations, and management accounts Support the preparation and submission of tax, VAT, and payroll returns Maintain firm and client compliance registers (CIPC, FICA, SARS) Liaise with clients, manage documentation, and ensure accurate record-keeping Provide administrative and operational support to the Practice Manager Contribute to workflow monitoring and internal reporting Key Performance Indicators Accuracy and timeliness of accounting and tax tasks Compliance deadlines met (CIPC, SARS, FICA, etc.) Quality and reliability of captured financial data Effective client communication and responsiveness Contribution to workflow and process improvement Requirements Qualifications: Matric (minimum) Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Financial Management, or related field (advantageous) Experience: 2 years in an accounting or administrative role within an accounting firm Completed articles or internship experience highly beneficial Exposure to SARS submissions, bookkeeping, and compliance processes Skills and Competencies: High attention to detail and accuracy Strong organisational and time management skills Analytical and problem-solving mindset Professional communication and teamwork Ability to work independently with integrity and accountability Bilingual in Afrikaans and English (essential) Software Exposure: Xero / Sage / QuickBooks (beneficial) SARS eFiling and CIPC platforms Why Join?
