Job Description

Minimum Requirements:

  1. Grade 12 / Matric
  2. Higher Diploma or Degree in Logistics/ Customs/Freight
  3. +-1 years’ experience – preferred
  4. Ability to work after hours if and when needed 
  5. Knowledge of Namibian Customs – SAD500, TIN, Release Process

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support Logistics Controllers with compiling and submitting SAD 500 forms and TIN landing/shipping paperwork
  • Check all customs and shipping documents to ensure they are correct and fully completed before sending them off
  • Handle the preparation, submission, and follow-up of customs files until the final release is issued
  • Coordinate with NAMRA, NAB, DVS, Namport, and other regulatory bodies regarding inspections, clearances, and necessary approvals
  • Provide transporters with release documents required for cargo pick-up and delivery.
  • Organise and oversee inspections from DVS, NAB, LLPB, NAMRA, and other agencies when needed
  • Keep consistent communication with clearing teams, drivers, and relevant authorities to maintain an efficient cargo movement process
  • Monitor all file references, release numbers, and scheduled inspection dates
  • Organise and store all documentation – both electronically and in hard copy – according to company standards
  • Give Logistics Controllers daily updates on the status of ongoing shipments
  • Carry out port and customs-related tasks when required
  • Protect and manage company documents and permits responsibly at all times
  • Uphold a professional image when dealing with external parties on behalf of the company
