An esteemed organization in Johannesburg is seeking a highly skilled Senior Network Design Engineer. This role is pivotal in designing, implementing, and optimizing network infrastructure, ensuring the highest standards of performance, security, and reliability. The successful candidate will bring extensive expertise in networking technologies, cybersecurity best practices, and a deep understanding of IT platforms and business principles.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and manage complex network infrastructure services and applications, including Networking, Security, DNS, TCP/IP, Active Directory, and Linux.
• Ensure network stability and efficiency by working with various protocols and technologies such as BGP, OSPF, and Software-Defined Networking (SDN).
• Apply cybersecurity best practices, including the implementation of firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention systems, encryption, and access control mechanisms.
• Analyze network data to identify trends, optimize performance, and support decision-making processes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align network solutions with business objectives and industry trends.
• Stay abreast of international standards for professional practice, ensuring the network infrastructure meets or exceeds these benchmarks.

Key Requirements:

• Extensive knowledge of infrastructure software services and applications, including but not limited to Networking, Security, DNS, TCP/IP, Active Directory, and Linux.
• Proficiency in a wide range of protocols and technologies, such as BGP, OSPF, and SDN.
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity best practices, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention, encryption, and access control.
• Experience with various IT platforms and a solid grasp of business principles.
• Demonstrated ability in data analysis and making informed decisions based on industry trends.
• Familiarity with international standards for professional practice in network design and implementation.
