Job Description

Hospitality and Outdoor – New Vacancy – Junior Sous Chef Luxury Lodge – Hluhluwe, KZN Requirements: · Minimum 3 years relevant kitchen experience in a 5 – star hospitality or lodge environment · All-rounder with strong knowledge of pastry and hot kitchen sections · Strong pastry skills with experience in creating high-quality desserts · Strong communication skills with guests and team members · Knowledge and experience with PANstrat (Beneficial) · Sound knowledge of HACCP and food safety standards · Ability to work under pressure in a professional manner · Honest, driven and career-focused with strong integrity · Ability to mentor, train and lead kitchen staff · Good organisational and problem-solving skills · Valid, unendorsed South African driver’s license (essential) Responsibilities: · Ensure the highest standards of hygiene, food safety and cleanliness · Oversee and lead the pastry section · Maintain quality and quantity control of all food leaving the kitchen · Manage special dietary requirements and guest engagement where required · Support bush banqueting, picnics, drink stops and special events · Assist with food ordering, stock control and stock rotation · Maintain strict food cost control and budget awareness · Train, mentor and support junior chefs · Promote teamwork, professionalism and a positive kitchen culture · Ensure fridges, freezers and storerooms are clean, secure and well managed Package on offer: · Market related – Depending on experience · Permanent live-in position · Transport to and from leave cycles is the successful candidate’s own responsibility Start Date: ASAP
