About the Role
Persona Staff is seeking a highly skilled Credit Controller to join our team in Cape Town. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for managing debtors’ books, working closely with our Financial Director to grant credit and review credit limits, and liaising with customers to recover outstanding debts.
Key Responsibilities
- Run debtors book so that all new clients fill in account opening forms with signed sureties and acknowledgment of debt forms where necessary.
- Work closely with FD to grant credit to new customers and review credit limits of old customers.
- Constantly monitor accounts for compliance with set terms, freezing accounts as needed.
- Liaise with customers having difficulty to put in place reasonable plans for recovering outstanding debts.
- Prepare monthly reports showing Exco customers who are not paying.
- Resolve disputes and work with CGIC where necessary to recover long-standing amounts.
- Allocate daily receipts to customer accounts.
- Assist FD with “completed deal” reports for accurate commission calculations.
- Prepare credit note files for FD sign-off.
Requirements
- Matric is essential.
- Relevant tertiary qualification would be beneficial.
- Experience on Pastel is required.
- Experience on Excel is necessary.
- Working with CGIC would be a bonus.
- Attention to detail is crucial.
