Job Description

We are seeking a hands-on Accountant to serve as the key finance partner at the KwaZulu Cruise Terminal, supporting terminal and logistics operations while owning end-to-end financial processes.

This is not a routine accounting role. You will work closely with operations, procurement, and head office finance, contributing directly to cost control, reporting, and business decision-making in a dynamic maritime and logistics environment.

Key Responsibilities

Manage end-to-end creditors (local and foreign), billing, and collections, ensuring accuracy and adherence to agreed payment and credit terms
Perform full accounting up to Trial Balance, including bank reconciliations and general ledger maintenance
Drive the month-end close process and prepare management accounts, reporting packs, and variance analysis
Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations, including creditors, debtors, accruals, and intercompany balances
Partner with operations and procurement to monitor spend, support supplier management, and drive cost-saving initiatives
Act as the finance point of contact for on-site operations, providing financial insight to support decision-making
Support audits, compliance requirements, system enhancements, and ad-hoc finance projects

Minimum Requirements

Diploma or Degree in Accounting or Finance
2+ years’ experience in an operational accounting role
Strong experience in creditors, billing, collections, and month-end close
Exposure to procurement and cost-saving initiatives
ERP experience (SAP advantageous)
Experience in logistics, hospitality, maritime, or tourism industries is advantageous
