About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Winemaker Assistant to join our team in Stellenbosch. As a key member of our winemaking department, you will be responsible for assisting with blending new wines for products, contracts, and tenders. Your expertise will also be crucial in preparing wine samples for client tastings, wine shows, approvals, and evaluations.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with blending of new wines for products, contracts, and tenders
- Prepare wine samples for client tastings, wine shows, approvals, and evaluations
- Set up and facilitate internal and external tastings
- Support final sensorial approval of bulk and bottled wines
- Maintain accurate records of blends, tastings, approvals, and feedback
- Capture and manage wine specifications and technical documentation
Requirements
- Grade 12 or equivalent
- Relevant Degree or Diploma in Winemaking or related field
- Minimum 5 years winemaking experience in a similar environment
- Strong wine tasting and sensory evaluation skills
- Excellent attention to detail and record-keeping ability
- Valid drivers license
