About the Role
Our Pretoria-based employer is seeking a skilled Tax Consultant to join their team. As a personal tax specialist, you will be working closely with clients to navigate the complexities of tax law and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. With at least 3 years of relevant experience in personal taxation, you are well-equipped to handle the challenges of this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Work on Efiling: submit ITR12 returns, understand ITA34 (assessment) when SARS issues an additional assessment, handle SARS objections and appeals, perform tax clearance certificates & Foreign investment tax clearances
- Monitor SARS turnaround times and take necessary escalation steps as needed
- Calculate Provisional Tax, request necessary documents, and resolve why SARS does not pay out a client’s refund
- Stay up-to-date with SARS Efiling changes and handle all SARS enquiries and appointments
- Work on Pastel: create trial balances, generate and understand VAT reports
Requirements
- At least 3 years of personal tax experience
- Ability to perform bookkeeping tasks
- Bilingual in Afrikaans and English
