Job Description

Required: Relevant tertiary qualification in Agriculture Fluent in English and Afrikaans Minimum 10 years experience in commercial farming, with at least 5 years on a management level Proven track record of successfully managing production and labour Sufficient experience in the production of table grapes Extensive technical knowledge on chemicals, fertilization and irrigation Experience in managing a packhouse effectively Strong knowledge of quality management systems, labour relations, food safety and export Manage daily farm production aligned to the strategic plans of senior management Perform tasks independently and meticulously on chemistry, fertilization and irrigation at the right stage of development Manage relationships with suppliers effectively Responsible for all labour related matters and ensuring that labour is effectively managed Manage packhouse effectively in terms of quality, quantity and financial implications Make contributions regarding financial planning and work within budget Maintain an effective quality management system to ensure that all products are up to standard, MRLs are not exceeded and are of good internal quality Maintenance of mechanical equipment and infrastructure Maintain data integrity and manage systems (i.e. keeping information up to date) that are associated with the audits such as global gap, siza etc.
