Job Description
You will collaborate with key stakeholders to identify training needs, design and deliver training courses, and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs. Additionally, you will be responsible for managing the training budget, coordinating external training resources, and keeping up-to-date with industry trends and best practices.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and Plan annual individual restaurant training plans with Operations and General managers
- Collate and submit annual Mandatory and Discretionary Grant Applications (Workplace Skills Plan and Annual training report) with Cathsseta
- Coordinate the consultative EE and Training Committees
- Compile and submit annual EE Report
- Prepare and assist with the Annual BBBEE Audit
- Manage and Maintain Accreditation with various quality assurance bodies
- Facilitate accreditations for new programmes as the need arises
- Maintain the day to day running and accreditation of the Culinary School
- Develop individual development plans for staff for the purposes of career development and succession planning
- Ensure proactive participation in all learning programmes
- Develop and execute strategies to ensure that all learning programmes are completed within the relevant timeframes
- Source, coordinate and/or create effective and relevant training interventions to assist staff in meeting their development goals
- Maintain efficient and accurate training records
- Regularly consult with restaurant GMs and operations managers to adapt training strategies as needed so as to keep training current and relevant
- Coordinate training interventions with service providers and suppliers
- Coordinate trainees and learners from various FET/TVET colleges and Government/SETA Youth Programmes
- Facilitate and roll out various training interventions at all levels
- Create and develop or update existing training materials and courses
- Oversee and maintain monthly training calendars
- Training needs analysis – Identify knowledge and skills gaps and implement training solutions to close the gaps
- Conduct Induction for new staff
- Coordinate various development programmes (MDP, ADP, Jnr Sous Chef and Jnr FOH management programmes)
- Manage Assessments and Moderations for accredited programmes
- Assist with Tender processes and special projects as they arise
- Quality management controls for learning and development as well as product offering
Requirements:
- Recognised Human Resources/Learning and Development qualification would
be advantageous - 3 5 years relevant experience in a similar position
- Proficient in Microsoft packages essential (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and email)
- Written Communication: read, interpret and write routine reports, agreement and correspondence
- Design and develop curriculum, training materials and assessments
- Problem solving
- Facilitation on various levels
- Sound knowledge of SETA dynamics (understanding how SETA works and reporting on DG Grant and MG Grant)
- Employment Equity reporting procedures
