About the Role
Hire Resolve is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounts Payable Manager to join our client’s financial services company in Midrand. The AP Manager will be responsible for overseeing the accounts payable department, managing vendor relationships, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, and implementing best practices to streamline operations and improve efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the accounts payable team, including hiring, training, and development
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors and negotiate favorable payment terms
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices, expense reports, and other payment requests
- Review and reconcile accounts payable transactions, resolve discrepancies, and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
- Monitor cash flow and assist in cash management activities
- Develop and implement process improvements to streamline operations and reduce costs
- Prepare reports and analysis on accounts payable performance and metrics
- Stay current on industry trends and best practices in accounts payable management
- Assist with month-end close activities and financial reporting as needed
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Minimum of 5 years of accounts payable experience, experience in the financial services industry required
- Previous supervisory experience and proven ability to lead a team
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, accounting software, and ERP systems
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Detail-oriented and able to work accurately under tight deadlines
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently
Qualifications
- Certified Accountant/Associations are a bonus
