Junior Ranger / Field Guide Luxury Safari Lodge, Zululand
Kendrick Recruitment is seeking a passionate and adventurous Junior Ranger for a luxury safari lodge in Zululand, KZN. This live-in role is perfect for someone eager to develop their wildlife guiding skills while experiencing life in the bush and working closely with iconic African wildlife.
Whats on offer:
Salary: R10,000 per month (live-in)
Accommodation and uniforms included
6 weeks on / 2 weeks off rotation
Hands-on experience with Big 5, predators, and endangered species
The Role:
The Junior Ranger will support the lodges guiding team and ensure guests have unforgettable safari experiences.
Key responsibilities include:
Conducting morning and afternoon game drives
Guiding guests on wildlife and birding tours (over 400 bird species!)
Sharing knowledge on local flora, fauna, and conservation efforts
Practising and maintaining safety protocols during all drives
Off-road driving and advanced rifle handling where required
Assisting with lodge operations as needed
Monitoring and protecting wildlife, including endangered species such as black rhino, cheetah, and pangolin
Qualifications & Skills:
FGASA certification required
First Aid, birding courses, off-road driving skills, and Advanced Rifle Handling (ARH)
Passionate about wildlife conservation and education
Physically fit, adaptable, and comfortable living in a remote bush environment
Strong communication and guest interaction skills
