- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or related)
- Experience in engineering environments, with senior management exposure
- Proven track record managing engineering operations, budgets, and contracts
- Strong commercial and financial acumen
- Experience leading large teams and multiple concurrent projects
- Excellent negotiation, leadership, and decision-making skills
General Manager – Engineering to lead and manage an engineering division, with full accountability for daily operations, financial performance, and contract management. The successful candidate will provide strategic and operational leadership to ensure that projects are delivered profitably, on time, and in compliance with contractual, technical, and regulatory requirements.
- Operational & Engineering Management:
- Oversee day-to-day engineering operations across multiple projects
- Ensure the effective planning, execution, and delivery of engineering and construction activities
- Lead multi-disciplinary engineering and project teams
- Ensure compliance with engineering standards, safety regulations, and quality systems
- Financial Management:
- Take full responsibility for division budgets, cost control, and financial performance
- Monitor project margins, cash flow, forecasts, and expenditure
- Approve project variations, claims, and commercial decisions
- Work closely with finance to ensure accurate reporting and profitability
- Contracts & Commercial Management:
- Manage client and subcontractor contracts (FIDIC / NEC / bespoke contracts advantageous)
- Oversee contract negotiations, risk management, claims, and dispute resolution
- Ensure contractual compliance and effective change management
- Support tendering, pricing strategies, and contract reviews
