Job Description
We are looking for a Logistics Supervisor to join the team in Bethal (Mpumalanga). The Logistics Supervisor is the second-in-command in the logistics and operations team, supporting the Operations Manager in overseeing all aspects of catering transport, warehousing, and event logistics. This role provides leadership, coordination, and supervision of logistics crews and drivers, ensuring timely, safe, and efficient delivery of equipment and services while maintaining high standards of health, safety, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management
- Supervise and lead logistics crews and drivers, providing guidance, training, and support.
- Ensure all team members understand their duties, safety protocols, and performance expectations.
- Monitor daily performance, productivity, and compliance with SOPs.
- Step in for the Operations Manager when required, making operational decisions and resolving issues on the ground.
- Foster a positive, proactive, and collaborative team culture.
Logistics & Transport Oversight
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise the preparation, loading, and dispatch of catering trucks.
- Ensure vehicles are loaded safely and efficiently according to event requirements.
- Oversee transport schedules and routes, ensuring timely delivery of equipment, supplies, and staff.
- Monitor vehicle maintenance, cleanliness, and compliance with transport regulations.
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Grade 12
- Graduate Logistics, Supply Chain or relevant qualification.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in logistics, transport, or warehouse operations will be an advantage
- Familiarity with vehicle operations, inventory management, event logistics and stock control a bonus.
- Proven Leadership skills
- Medically fit as this is a physically demanding position
- Computer literacy (MS Office, fleet tracking systems, and logistics software
