Job Description
We have the following position available in Woodmead:
Bookkeeper / Stock Forecaster & Planner (Open to Junior Bookkeeper, Senior Bookkeeper, Cost Accountant, Finance Controller, Production Planner, or similar titles)
Job Function (This is a paper-based control and planning role, not a physical warehouse stock controller).
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Forecasting and planning stock requirements (raw materials, packaging, labels, etc.)
- Managing documentation for import/export and forex-related processes
- Handling bank-related paperwork and audit trails
- Supporting bookkeeping functions and acting as backup during leave or absence
- Creating and maintaining structured paper trails and procedures
- Participating in stock counts and tracking all stock movement
- Ensuring accurate calculations and forecasting in a retail stock environment
Minimum Requirements
- Matric (Grade 12)
- Bookkeeping qualification or degree
- Minimum 5 years experience in bookkeeping and stock planning
- Advanced Excel skills (including formulas and forecasting tools)
- Strong mathematical ability and logical thinking
- Own reliable transport
- Age between 2845
- Must live within a 30 km radius of the workplace
- Willingness to work extended hours (7:00 AM to 5:00 PM or later)
- High level of responsibility and attention to paperwork
- Ability to work in a high-admin environment with structured processes
Preferred Experience & Attributes
- Experience in hardware/tool retail stock environments
- Familiarity with import/export documentation and forex processes
- Strong can-do attitude and ownership of responsibilities
- Not a clock-watcher committed to workload and deadlines
- Not a job hopper
- Ability to work independently and proactively improve systems
