About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Horticulturist to join our team in advancing environmental education, biodiversity restoration, and sustainable land management. This role is central to our mission of igniting a love for nature in children while empowering communities to make informed plant choices that support butterflies, birds, bees, and other vital species.
Key Responsibilities
- Select, propagate, and manage indigenous and culturally significant plant species for restoration projects.
- Develop plant palettes that balance ecological fidelity with community needs and aesthetic appeal.
- Manage efficient and effective eradication of invasive plants, and help restore sustainable ecosystems.
- Manage online sales of plants.
Requirements
- Degree or diploma in Horticulture, Botany, Ecology, or Environmental Science (or equivalent practical experience).
- Demonstrated expertise in indigenous plant species, propagation techniques, and sustainable landscape design.
- Strong communication skills for diverse audiences, from scientific peers to community groups.
- Experience in restoration ecology, permaculture, or agroecology is highly desirable.
