About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager: Exports Chemical Products to drive growth across Sub-Saharan Africa (excluding South Africa). The role focuses on developing new export markets, managing key customer relationships, and delivering sales and margin targets across multiple African countries.
Key Responsibilities
- Achieve sales volume, revenue, and margin targets
- Identify and develop new export markets and customers
- Prepare proposals, negotiate commercial terms, and close deals
- Build and maintain strong customer and distributor relationships
- Conduct regular customer visits and quarterly business reviews
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and growth opportunities
- Represent the company at trade shows and industry events
- Liaise with internal sales, supply chain, finance, and technical teams
- Support OTIF delivery performance and demand forecasting
- Ensure compliance with export documentation and controls
Requirements
- Tertiary qualification in Business, Marketing, Chemistry, or related field
- 68 years of experience in export sales and business development
- Proven track record across Sub-Saharan / East Africa
- Experience in industrial adhesives, chemicals, or technical products
- Strong commercial, negotiation, and analytical skills
