About the Role
As the Assistant Accountant at Communicate Finance, you will be responsible for providing high-quality financial and management reports to both financial and non-financial stakeholders. You will support month-end close processes, monitor expenses, manage credit cards and fuel cards, and act as primary contact for Accounts Payable queries.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate, high-quality financial and management reports, providing clear analysis tailored to both financial and non-financial stakeholders
- Support month-end close, including balance sheet reconciliations, cost center reviews, journals, and report distribution
- Monitor and control expenses, ensuring compliance with company policies and VAT requirements
- Manage credit cards and fuel cards
- Act as primary contact for Accounts Payable queries, supporting local staff and the AP team with vendor setup and invoice queries
- Serve as Invoice Manager for South Africa, ensuring accurate PO coding, approvals, and maintenance for the Non-PO list
- Approve and correctly code freight invoices
- Use SAP and Microsoft Excel to process transactions to efficiently and maintain accurate financial records
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and statutory audit standards
- Assist with audit preparation
Requirements
- 3-5 years of accounting experience in a similar role within a manufacturing, FMCG or multinational environment
- Strong month-end and reporting exposure
- Sound systems capability, with hands-on experience using SAP and strong Excel skills
- Good understanding of financial controls and compliance
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Qualifications
- Completed degree in finance or accounting
- Completed Matric (Grade 12)
