About the Role
Our client in the Health Industry is seeking a highly skilled Patient Administrator to join their team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring a smooth and efficient patient admission process, while maintaining accurate records and preventing potential risk factors.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a well-run, professional, and patient-focused admission environment.
- Manage the accuracy of the admission process and the prevention of potential risk factors.
- Assist patients to accurately complete appropriate forms and documents for the required information.
- Capture and record patient medical and personal information on the Hospital system in a professional manner.
- Liaise with medical aids to obtain authorization for admission.
- Handle money and receive according to protocol.
- Assist patients in obtaining authorization numbers from their medical aid for the booked procedure.
- Check if patient has any outstanding previous accounts.
- Assist private patients by preparing the Pre-payment estimate according to Group guideline using the approved documentation.
Requirements
- Grade 12 or equivalent NQF level 4 qualification.
- A National Diploma or Relevant NQF 6 qualifications, in Administration, will be advantageous.
- A minimum of 2 – 4 years’ experience in the admissions processes in a private hospital environment.
- Billing background would be beneficial.
- Previous experience in pre-admission, admission, and confirmation department is essential.
- Basic working knowledge of ICD and CPT coding is essential.
