About the Role
A well-established client in the hospitality industry in Fort Beaufort is looking to appoint a Restaurant & Bar Manager to oversee the daily operations of the restaurant and kitchen.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and monitor service standards, policies, and processes to ensure a high-quality guest experience.
- Oversee daily operations, including staffing, inventory, and budget management.
- Train, mentor, and manage the restaurant team of four staff members (two front house and two kitchen), fostering a culture of service excellence.
- Monitor guest feedback, identify improvement opportunities, and implement changes to enhance guest satisfaction.
- Support the team in achieving sales, up-selling, and waste reduction targets.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and food safety regulations.
- Collaborate with purchasing to select suitable suppliers for the restaurant’s needs.
Requirements
- Matric
- Diploma in Hotel Management, Food and Beverage, or a related field
- Minimum of 2 years proven experience in hospitality / restaurant management
- Fluent in English (additional fluency in isiXhosa or Afrikaans is advantageous)
- Numeracy proficiency
- Computer literacy – Microsoft Office and food & beverage management software
- POS experience (Unisolv, Gaap, Pilot etc.)
- Strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work shifts that meet operational requirements
- Valid drivers license
