Job Description

A well-established client in the hospitality industry in Fort Beaufort is looking to appoint a Restaurant & Bar Manager to oversee the daily operations of the restaurant and kitchen.

Requirements:

  • Matric
  • Diploma in Hotel Management, Food and Beverage, or a related field
  • Minimum of 2 years proven experience in hospitality / restaurant management
  • Fluent in English (additional fluency in isiXhosa or Afrikaans is advantageous)
  • Numeracy proficiency
  • Computer literacy – Microsoft Office and food & beverage management software
  • POS experience (Unisolv, Gaap, Pilot etc.)
  • Strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work shifts that meet operational requirements
  • Valid drivers license

Responsibilities include:

  • Implement and monitor service standards, policies, and processes to ensure a high-quality guest experience.
  • Oversee daily operations, including staffing, inventory, and budget management.
  • Train, mentor, and manage the restaurant team of four staff members (two front house and two kitchen), fostering a culture of service excellence.
  • Monitor guest feedback, identify improvement opportunities, and implement changes to enhance guest satisfaction.
  • Support the team in achieving sales, up-selling, and waste reduction targets.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and food safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with purchasing to select suitable suppliers for the restaurants needs.
