Job Description

About the Role

Hire Resolve’s client is seeking an Operations Specialist to join their IT department in Johannesburg, Gauteng. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Computer Information systems and networking development and maintenance, with a strong focus on keeping up with advancements in the field and promoting technological innovation.

Key Responsibilities

Performing analyses on Internal IT Infrastructure and Information Systems efficiency and integration
Reporting to management on IT Infrastructure and Information Systems development, implementation, and progress.
Collaborating with development teams and departments, as well as incorporating user feedback.
Ensuring IT Infrastructure and Information Systems innovation and implementation
Maintaining, installing, and administering Database infrastructure
Identifying, investigating, proposing/recommending, installing any IT support or reporting software

Requirements

A bachelor’s degree in computer information systems, management information systems, or similar.
At least 5 years of experience working and maintaining, installing, customising, and optimising Databases (SQL, MySQL, Oracle).
Knowledge of database structure languages, such as SQL or SQL/PSM.
A full understanding of the IT SDLC.
At least 3 years of experience working and maintaining, installing, customising, and optimising Linux servers.
Advanced knowledge of IT Infrastructure and Information Systems innovation and integration.
Knowledge of database design and theories.
Ability to work with data architects and other IT specialists to set up, maintain, and monitor data networks.
Experience with server installation and maintenance.
Ability to diagnose faults, incidents, and problems, and implement required changes.
Ensuring optimal hardware and software functionality, as well as network security.
