About the Role
A leading engineering company in Germiston is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Workshop Floor Manager to oversee workshop operations, manage artisans, and ensure production targets and quality standards are consistently achieved.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise all artisans and workshop staff
- Drive production output and ensure quality standards are met
- Oversee ordering, allocation, and utilization of resources and materials
- Ensure cost-effective operations and minimize wastage
- Implement effective time management practices for staff
- Monitor and enforce workshop safety and compliance standards
- Provide practical oversight of production processes
- Identify and resolve operational challenges promptly
- Report on production performance and resource utilization
- Collaborate with management to improve efficiency and productivity
Requirements
- 10 Years previous experience in managing an Engineering / Manufacturing workshop environment
- Strong background in structural steel, piping, and platework
- Proven ability to manage and lead artisans effectively
- Practical, hands-on approach to overseeing production
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work cost-effectively and maintain resource efficiency
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to drive production and maintain quality standards
