About the Role

Our client, a well-established Consulting Structural, Civil and Timber Engineering Firm, is seeking a Junior Structural Engineer to join their team in Cape Town City Centre. As a key member of the team, you will be expected to work collaboratively with colleagues while also demonstrating autonomy on projects from concept to completion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in structural design and detailing of various structures (Steel, Concrete, Masonry and Timber)
  • Create technical drawings and project specifications
  • Liaise with professionals such as architects, specialist engineers, clients and contractors
  • Perform site inspections of structural elements

Requirements

  • BSc/BTech/Diploma Civil Eng
  • Experience with AutoCAD, or similar computer-aided design software
  • Experience with BIM (building information modelling) software, such as Revit and Prokon is a plus
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
