About the Role
We are seeking an Underwriting Intern to join our team in Sandton for a 12-month period. As an Underwriting Intern, you will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience and skills in the underwriting process, while contributing to the growth and development of our company.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Alignment: Increasing capacity and knowledge of company business to tap into whenever needed.
- Underwriting Management: Participate in reviewing terms and conditions of products and regulations/policy wordings to ensure relevance and updates.
- Loss Ratio Monitoring: Monitor and report multi claimants and loss ratio movement per class of business.
- Email Support: Handle e-mail queries from stakeholders.
- Market Research: Conduct research on possible new products and enhancement of existing ones through interactions with the market.
- Website Review: Participate in reviewing product information on our website to ensure its relevance.
- Client/Staff Relationships: Understand and adhere to client and staff relationships through individual contacts and group meetings.
- Professional Development: Pursue professional development opportunities, including external and internal training.
- Risk Management: Contribute in identifying emerging risks and establishing required controls to mitigate Underwriting risk.
- Ad Hoc Tasks: Perform any reasonable ad hoc tasks as and when required by the organisation.
