About the Role
The Graphic Designer is responsible for creating on-trend, commercially appealing graphics for clothing ranges. The role ensures all designs align with current fashion trends and the brand identity, while supporting production processes and administrative coordination. The successful candidate will operate in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, managing multiple deadlines without compromising on quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop on-trend, commercially viable graphics across various clothing ranges.
- Conduct ongoing research into local and international fashion trends relevant to the target market.
- Translate trend insights into creative, brand-aligned graphic concepts.
- Ensure consistency with brand guidelines and seasonal direction.
- Prepare accurate, print-ready artwork for production.
- Liaise with production teams to ensure correct execution of designs.
- Review strike-offs and samples to ensure design integrity and quality standards.
- Resolve design or artwork-related queries during production.
- Assist with production-related administration and documentation.
- Maintain organized digital filing systems for artwork and revisions.
- Track progress of design submissions to ensure timely approvals.
- Support coordination between design, buying, and production teams.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously in a high-volume environment.
- Prioritize workload effectively to meet tight deadlines.
- Ensure accuracy and attention to detail across all deliverables.
Requirements
- Matric (Grade 12)
- Qualification in Fashion Design, Clothing Production, Clothing Management, or related field
- Minimum 3 years experience in a similar role within a clothing or fashion environment
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator and Photoshop essential)
- Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Experience working in a high-volume retail or manufacturing environment preferred
