Hospitality Hire is recruiting on behalf of our client a busy hotel in Cape Town Every great guest experience begins with a warm welcome, an effortless check-in, and genuine attention to detail. We’re seeking an experienced Reception Supervisor / Shift Leader who understands that the front desk sets the tone for every stay and who leads with professionalism, warmth, and confidence. This newly created position forms part of an exciting phase of growth and transformation within our client’s property. It’s an opportunity to shape service excellence while mentoring a passionate front-office team and contributing to a culture of genuine hospitality. Preference will be given to Cape Town–based applicants. What We’re Looking For We’re searching for a hospitality professional with proven Front Office leadership experience, someone who brings operational expertise, service excellence, and a guest-first mindset. Requirements: • South African ID • Matric certificate (Grade 12) • Hospitality qualification advantageous • Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Front Office Supervisor, Duty Manager, or Reception Shift Leader within a 4- or 5-star hotel • Strong OPERA PMS proficiency (essential) • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills • Professional presentation and high attention to detail • Confidence in handling guest feedback and resolving challenges with empathy • Organised, reliable, and calm under pressure • Flexible to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays • Motivating leadership style with a collaborative, team-first approach Key Responsibilities • Lead and support the Front Office team to deliver seamless, welcoming service from check-in to check-out • Oversee daily operations, ensuring guest flow, room allocations, and lobby presentation meet high standards • Handle guest queries and resolve issues promptly and professionally • Mentor, coach, and motivate team members to uphold consistent service excellence • Collaborate with Housekeeping, Concierge, and Reservations to ensure smooth daily operations • Maintain exceptional presentation, service, and hospitality standards in all front office areas • Lead by example, fostering professionalism, positivity, and teamwork Why Join This Team At this hotel, leadership is about more than managing — it’s about connection, care, and consistency.
