About the Role
As an External Sales Representative, you will be responsible for servicing new and existing customers, conducting market research and surveys, and achieving monthly sales targets. You will also be required to provide excellent customer service, process quotations and invoices, and maintain accurate records of customer details.

Principal Accountabilities: Inventory – Fluid Control
- Ensure that we have the correct stockholding on Fluid Control to satisfy customer needs and requirements.
- Managing of “dead” and slow-moving stock on Fluid Control along with Branch Managers.
- Negotiate prices with suppliers on large buyout orders on Fluid Control products along with Branch Managers.
- Purchase order processing and proper sign off procedure for Fluid Control products.
Principal Accountabilities: Staff Management – Fluid Control
- Training of internal and external sales staff.
- Assisting on quotations and large orders.
- Provide updated supplier lists to staff to ensure Fluid Control product is purchased at the right price from the correct supplier.
- Provide staff with weekly specials lists on Fluid Control products.
- Assist internal/external sales staff in closing deals on Fluid Control products.
- Ensure necessary customer service levels are maintained by all staff.
Principal Accountabilities: Sales – Fluid Control
- Ensuring that budgeted sales and GP targets on Fluid Control products are met.
- Opening and following up on new accounts.
- Making sure all customer details are updated on the system, should anything change.
- Assist debtor’s department with any account queries.
- Processing of quotations and invoices.
- Setting specials and monitoring of slow-moving stock daily.
- Follow up on deliveries to customers.
- Answering of incoming calls and converting enquiries into sales when at the office.
- Following up on leads and turning them into sales.
- Ensure that walk-in account and cash customers are served promptly by all sales staff when at the office.
- Handling of customer complaints as well as repairs/returns.
- Updating and correcting the selling prices on computer and or making sure it gets corrected for Fluid Control.
- Updating Discount Matrix on a regular basis on Fluid Control.
- Regularly updating price comparison with competitors and forward to management on Fluid Control.
- Regularly evaluate the account customers buying experience and propose adjustments when necessary.
- Ensure all EFT payments have been authorized before stock is released for Fluid Control. Ensure money is received for all Fluid Control COD deliveries and updated in register.
- Ensure all credit notes for Fluid Control products are processed on Syspro before cash refunds are given.
