About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Buyer / Stock Controller to join our client’s team in Cape Town Airport Industrial Branch. The successful candidate will be responsible for executing cost-effective procurement and maintaining stock integrity for a chemical industry provider, ensuring business continuity through effective management of lead times, expiry risks, and stock levels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Utilize relevant experience within the field of application to manage procurement and stock tasks.
  • Generate accurate Purchase Orders and confirm all orders within 24 hours.
  • Source multiple quotes to ensure competitive pricing and track price fluctuations for management approval.
  • Lead the preparation and execution of stocktakes while investigating variances and documenting root causes.
  • Maintain 100% integrity of procurement and stock records within the ERP system.
  • Coordinate with the warehouse for timely Goods Received Voucher processing and resolve invoice discrepancies.
  • Identify slow-moving stock and initiate corrective actions with Sales and Operations.
  • Request and file essential compliance documents such as CoA, CoC, and Specifications to ensure audit readiness.

Requirements

Relevant experience within the field of procurement or supply chain management. High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and numerical problem-solving skills. Strong communication skills with the ability to be well-spoken and professional with stakeholders. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment and manage resources. Understanding of supplier documentation and quality standards.

Qualifications

Degree or Diploma in Supply Chain or Procurement is preferred. Chemical industry knowledge is highly advantageous. Proficiency in Pastel or similar ERP systems is an advantage. Minimum Matric certificate required.

Salary & Benefits

R15 000 – R25 000 per annum.
