About the Role
The Workshop Manager will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the workshop, ensuring efficient repair, maintenance, and servicing of agricultural machinery, as well as managing a team of staff to achieve productivity and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the daily operations of the workshop
- Plan, schedule, and control repairs, servicing, and maintenance of agricultural machinery
- Supervise, manage, and lead workshop staff, including task allocation and performance management
- Ensure quality workmanship, productivity, and adherence to safety standards
- Handle all workshop administration, including job cards, service histories, and reports
- Control and manage parts and stock, including ordering and supplier liaison
- Minimise machinery downtime to support farming operations
- Maintain a safe, organised, and efficient workshop environment
Requirements
- Matric (Grade 12)
- Relevant technical qualification in mechanical / diesel / agricultural machinery or similar
- Proven technical background in agricultural machinery, equipment, or vehicles
- Strong administrative skills
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
- Computer literate (MS Office and workshop systems)
- Valid driver’s licence
