About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Procurement and International Fruit Trading Manager to join our team in South Africa. The successful candidate will be responsible for procuring fresh fruit from local producers, building strong relationships with growers and suppliers, and driving export performance through market analysis and commercial decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Procure fresh fruit from local South African producers, with a strong focus on citrus supply
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with growers and suppliers
- Negotiate pricing, volumes, and supply agreements with local producers
- Manage international trading activities, including negotiation with overseas buyers and clients
- Drive export performance through market analysis, client relationship management, and commercial decision-making
Requirements
- Matric
- Relevant tertiary qualification would be beneficial
- 5 years experience in the fresh fruit export industry
- Exposure to both local procurement and international trading or marketing would be highly beneficial
- Previous experience working with South African fruit producers, specifically within the citrus sector
- Proven experience in international fruit trading and client or buyer relationship management
