About the Role
The Senior Guide at Bright Placements is a key role that combines advanced guiding expertise, guest engagement excellence, safety leadership, and operational responsibility. As the face of our luxury lodge or private game reserve operations, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional safari and wilderness experiences while upholding our reputation for outstanding wildlife interpretation, guest satisfaction, and professional guiding standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead daily game drives, bush walks, and safari activities at the highest standard
- Ensure exceptional guest experiences through engaging storytelling, interpretation, and personalised hosting
- Maintain full compliance with safety protocols, reserve regulations, and guiding standards
- Mentor, train, and support Junior Guides and Trackers
- Conduct regular skills assessments and provide ongoing coaching to the guiding team
- Manage guide schedules and assist with duty rosters
- Oversee vehicle, equipment, and radio management
- Handle guest feedback, requests, and special experiences professionally
- Support conservation initiatives and ensure ethical wildlife interactions
- Maintain accurate sightings records and operational reports
- Act as senior authority on guiding operations when on duty
Requirements
- FGASA Level 2 or higher (Level 3 preferred)
- Valid PDP / PrDP Advanced First Aid certification
- Rifle competency and relevant firearm licences
- Valid driver’s licence
- Valid medical certificate
- Dangerous Game qualification (advantageous)
