Job Description
You will:
Lead and optimise the performance of a team of credit analysts
Drive quality, consistency, and turnaround times in credit submissions
Add value in pre-credit discussions, deal structuring, and solution design
Analyse complex financial statements, industry dynamics, and market risks
Present clear, well-structured credit recommendations to senior decision-makers
Ensure adherence to credit policies, regulatory standards, and risk frameworks
Collaborate closely with front office, legal, compliance, and risk teams
Support post-approval implementation and conditions of sanction
Contribute to training, upskilling, and team development initiatives
Participate in client engagements where required
This role offers high visibility, strategic input, and the opportunity to shape both transactions and team capability
Skills & Experience:
We’re looking for a commercially astute leader who brings:
BCom in Finance and/or Accounting
Minimum 3–5+ years’ experience in commercial or corporate credit risk
Strong knowledge of financial statement analysis and credit ratios
Sound understanding of the National Credit Act
Advanced credit risk assessment and structuring capability
Strong business acumen and decision-making confidence
Leadership capability with the ability to coach and elevate a team
Additional qualifications such as CA(SA), CFA, CIMA or MBA will be advantageous
