About the Role
A leading manufacturing company situated in the Eastern Cape is urgently seeking the expertise of an experienced Mechanical Technician to join their team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining and repairing various mechanical equipment, ensuring a safe and efficient working environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain company equipment such as compressors, UHPs and other related mechanical devices and equipment.
- Maintain company equipment in line with company procedures and industry best practices.
- Fault-find and investigate performance issues and repairs in line with industry best practices.
- Pack and unload company equipment in line with company procedures and guidelines.
- Always maintain a professional and courteous approach to colleagues and customers.
- Supervise positing of equipment; visually inspect and check all sea fastenings.
- Assist with completing paperwork while onsite such as timesheets, daily reports, pre-start checks, and task risk assessments.
- Work closely with the site supervisor on board to make sure that all connections are done as required by the blasting crew.
- Ensure that all safety devices are in place prior to allow the use of the compressor (this is to be done daily).
Requirements
- Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
- 4 years experience in a similar role
