About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Commis Chef to join our upmarket restaurant in Groenkloof, Pretoria. As a key member of our kitchen team, you will be responsible for food preparation and general kitchen management, with a focus on delivering high-quality dishes to our discerning guests.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items to high standards
- Assist in the management of kitchen operations, including stock control and health & safety protocols
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment
- Work collaboratively with other kitchen staff to achieve team goals
- Develop and implement new recipes and menu ideas
Requirements
- 2+ years relevant chef/kitchen management experience
- Experience with al a carte menus
- Good all-round cooking skills
- Strong knowledge of stock control and kitchen health & safety procedures
Qualifications
Formal qualification in culinary arts or a related field is beneficial.
