About the Role
Our client, a well-established global leader in concrete roofing systems and products, is seeking a professional Maintenance Technician to join their team based in Gauteng/West Rand. As a key member of the maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring overall plant reliability while upholding maintenance standards and philosophies.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure all personnel abide by OHS and company safety regulations and HR/Operational policies as amended from time to time.
- Oversee and train maintenance workforce to achieve overall plant efficiency in work.
- Ensure that maintenance of plant adheres to and the team is competent to improve plant reliability as per work maintenance objectives.
- Take responsibility for proper root cause analysis for preventative maintenance.
- Train, equip, support, and focus the talents of subordinates to achieve common objectives by setting standards and measuring performance.
- Report any work maintenance staff needs to carry out on the plant.
- Foster good industrial relations with employees.
- Work extended hours when asked, including traveling to other plants for emergency work.
- Assist with Project work as planned by Technical team with National Operations manager.
Requirements
• Qualified Artisan/Technician/Engineering background
• Minimum of 10 years working experience in mass production environment
• Tile making experience will be advantageous
• Excellent verbal and written English and Afrikaans communication skills
• Computer Literate (MS Office package)
• Interface professionally with all levels of employees
• Exemplary and imitable behaviour, good motivational skills, and objectives-driven
• Sound physical health essential for traveling to other plants when required by nature of job
