Job Description
Hire Resolve is currently seeking a detail-oriented Purchasing Clerk to join our client, in the chemical hygiene industry, in Cape Town. As a Purchasing Clerk, you will be responsible for coordinating and managing the purchasing activities of the organization. This includes sourcing suppliers, obtaining quotes, issuing purchase orders, and ensuring timely delivery of goods and services. Responsibilities:
- Continuously analyze production needs
- Prepare purchasing worksheets
- Analyze buy-out reports and place orders accordingly
- Update buy-outs safety stock monthly
- Ensure procurement of raw materials, packaging, and labeling meets production needs
- Evaluate supplier quality and maintain relationships
- Conduct price negotiations and supplier evaluations
- Order buy-out items and quarterly analysis of imported perfume requirements
- Procure Oxone quarterly or as needed
- Resolve supplier queries and manage PPE clothing
- Source new packaging and raw materials
- Purchase equipment and dosing equipment
- Book in all delivered stock items at depots
- Track raw material totals by vendor/supplier
- Monitor quality of raw materials by load, vendor, and ship form
- Follow up on outstanding orders
- Update prices on Navision monthly
- Allocate and deliver buy-out items to depots
- Renew SLAs every 3 years
- Ensure correct documentation for imported products and shipping
- Update buyout prices monthly and send to Sales for Navision update
- Control PPE
- Capture STNs for stock transfers daily
- Update spreadsheet for movement of top raw materials monthly
- Follow up on payments for suppliers with COD accounts
- Maintain accurate filing systems
- Manage and control monthly staff pack issuance
Requirements:
- Gr 12 or equivalent with math or accounting.
- Tertiary qualification in supply chain advantageous
- Minimum 5 years experience in chemical manufacturing or similar industry in procurement of raw materials and buy-out items
- Proficient in Navision, Syspro, Accpac, or similar ERP/MRP systems
- Advanced skills in MS Office, particularly Excel
- Ability to self-study and research to develop technical and soft skills
