About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Fire Technologist (Building Services) to join our team in Centurion. As a key member of our fire protection services, you will be responsible for conducting fire risk analyses, designing and implementing fire systems that meet regulatory requirements, and applying engineering calculations for various fire protection systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct fire risk analysis
- Design and implement fire systems to comply with Regulations, Codes of Practice, statutory requirements, including NFPA, BS, SANS, and ASIB
- Apply engineering calculations for automatic sprinklers, smoke detection, evacuation systems, smoke ventilation, hydraulic design, gas suppression, and other engineering tasks
- Plan, design, organize, and control complete projects
- Rationalize fire designs
- Prepare and present technical reports, financial reports, tender documentation, etc.
Requirements
• B Tech (Mechanical)
• Certification/Training/Experience in Fire Protection/Fighting
• Registered with ECSA as a Professional Technologist is optional
• Minimum of 5 years in the knowledge of basic design principles and applications of fire systems
