Job Description

Hire Resolve’s client is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Planning Coordinator to join their food production company in the Western Cape. The Planning Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating production schedules, ensuring raw materials availability, and optimizing production efficiency to meet customer demand.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain production schedules to meet customer demand while maximizing efficiency.
  • Coordinate with procurement team to ensure timely availability of raw materials and packaging supplies.
  • Monitor production levels and identify opportunities for process improvement.
  • Collaborate with production team to address any delays or issues that may arise during the production process.
  • Track and analyze production data to identify trends and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Communicate with sales team to understand customer demand and adjust production plans accordingly.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and quality standards.

Requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree in food science, business administration, supply chain management, or a related field.
  • Certifications in supply chain management (like APICS certification), quality control, or related areas can be advantageous.
  • Previous experience in a supervisory or managerial role within a food production environment.
  • Ability to quickly address and resolve production issues or bottlenecks.
  • Ensuring quality standards are met, and regulatory requirements are adhered to.
  • Familiarity with planning software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • In-depth knowledge of food safety standards and the ability to implement and monitor compliance.
  • Understanding of workplace safety regulations and practices within the meat production industry.
  • Proficiency in analyzing production data, identifying trends, and making data-driven decisions.
