About the Role
The Site Manager – Specialised Operational Team Leader role at Bidvest Protea Coin involves overseeing special surface and underground operations, conducting tactical responses to incidents, and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan special surface and underground operations.
- Conduct special surface and underground operations.
- Tactically respond to incidents on surface and underground.
- Conduct shaft searches on surface and underground.
- Escort employees into underground operations.
- Observe employees/contractors working inside high-risk areas.
- Coordinate intelligence gathered on illegal activities.
- Supervise team members and coordinate their efforts.
- Maintain knowledge of PRP Buzz system, duty rosters, and rostering of employees.
- Update and maintain DMS and all DFO functions.
- Liaise with clients to build professional relationships.
- Manage incidents and ensure incident management procedures are followed.
- Ensure compliance with the Company’s disciplinary code.
- Adhere to company SOPs.
- Fulfill court procedures.
Requirements
- PSIRA certification – Grade A
- Ability to pass all underground medical requirements
- Completed Proto training (advantageous)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Underground experience of a Gold mine (compulsory)
- Experience of Gold-related investigations, and clandestine operations (advantageous)
- Sound knowledge of Camera and Alarm System
- Business Firearm competency (handgun, shotgun, and rifle/Self-loading rifle)
- Ability to communicate and present at all levels
- Ability to work under pressure
- Willingness to work long hours when required
- Clean disciplinary, criminal, and credit record
- Valid driver’s license and driving competence
