About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Social Media Content Creator to join our team at SD Recruitment (Pty) Ltd in Century City. As a key member of our marketing department, you will be responsible for developing and implementing our social media strategy, creating engaging content across multiple platforms, and driving business growth through digital marketing initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in developing and implementing the company’s social media strategy
- Plan, schedule, and publish content across platforms including Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and TikTok
- Monitor engagement and respond to comments and messages professionally
- Identify social media trends and recommend ideas to grow reach and engagement
- Track and report on social media performance using analytics tools
- Maintain consistency in brand messaging across platforms
- Create engaging social media content including posts, stories, reels and short-form video
- Film and edit video content for platforms such as Instagram Reels, TikTok and Stories
- Design graphics, social media posts and promotional visuals using tools such as Canva
- Edit video content using CapCut or similar video editing tools
- Assist in developing content calendars and campaign plans
- Create presentation decks to support campaign planning
- Work with internal teams to ensure all content aligns with the brand’s visual identity and tone
- Support campaign launches and digital marketing initiatives
- Assist with the development and distribution of email campaigns and newsletters
- Support the creation and management of mailing lists
- Track campaign metrics such as open rates and click-through rates
- Assist with basic on-page SEO updates to improve website visibility
- Support digital advertising initiatives such as Google Ads and social media ads
- Ensure web content is aligned with digital marketing best practices
- Monitor performance across digital campaigns and social media platforms
- Compile monthly marketing performance reports
- Provide insights to support data-driven marketing decisions
- Stay updated on social media trends, platform updates, and digital innovations
- Conduct competitor research and market analysis
- Explore the use of AI tools to improve content creation and workflow
- Work closely with internal departments and external partners
- Support marketing activities at events and campaigns
- Attend meetings where marketing support or digital coverage is required
- Assist with additional marketing tasks when needed
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Marketing, Digital Marketing, Communications, Media Studies, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in social media management, digital marketing, or content creation.
- Experience managing Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and TikTok for business or brand accounts.
- Proficiency in content creation, including graphics, reels, and short-form video.
- Experience using Canva, CapCut, or similar design and video editing tools.
- Basic knowledge of social media analytics, email marketing, SEO, and digital advertising.
- Strong communication, organisational, and teamwork skills, with the ability to work independently.
- Comfortable appearing on camera and creating video content.
