About the Role
We are seeking a qualified technician to join our team at IMFRG – East Rand, a leading provider of vehicle services in Gauteng. As a key member of our technical team, you will be responsible for carrying out diagnostic work and supporting mechanics to ensure efficient and effective vehicle servicing.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out diagnostic work and support mechanics as set out by the Foreman
- Conduct fault diagnosis to aid and speed up vehicle servicing
- Ensure servicing of vehicles remains within targeted percentages of the manufacturer’s time
- Discuss matters with service advisors and customers as required, providing coherent explanations
- Maintain standards regarding vehicle care and safety while performing functions
- Return vehicles to customers in a neat and clean condition after service
- Complete all necessary and relevant training as required by the OEM (online, classroom, other mediums of training) within reasonable time frames
- Administer forms and documentation included in the company’s service routine
- Draft and prepare reports required for the role
- Mentor apprentices, sign off logbooks, and evaluate their technical ability (if applicable)
- Communicate effectively with team members, colleagues across departments, customers, and service providers
- Participate in marketing campaigns when required to further the business
- Perform any other duties as may reasonably be required
Requirements
- Qualified Technician with minimum 3-5 years of experience after qualifying as a Technician is essential
- Relevant Kia technician experience will be an advantage
- Competent at operating manufacturer diagnostic equipment/computer to access information and complete duties associated with the role
- Mechanical insight, problem-solving, and motor vehicle fault-finding skills are required
- Mental alertness and sound English communication and writing skills to accurately record findings and work on job cards
